I was born on the day that The Beatles recorded I’m Only Sleeping. Childhood spent in Warwickshire, England. I’ve been a working musician (guitar, bass, sitar and keys) since my late teens. It’s been a colourful journey to date; having written, toured, recorded and performed with folks as disparate as Wreckless Eric, Aufgehoben and Paul McCartney. During the 90’s I started The Mockin’ Bird Recording Company – an analogue recording facility. The studio was originally in Brighton (UK) and attracted a number of folks who had populated the record collection of my youth and a slew of eager young bands and songwriters, some of whom have gone on to commerical and/or critical success. I sold the studio and contents (to Marc Beatty of The Brakes and The Tenderfoot notoriety) and left England at the end of the year 2000.
Since leaving the UK I have enjoyed tenures in Los Angeles and New York City (working as a musician, composer and sound engineer/designer) and have now settled in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Recently opening my doors once more as The Mockin’ Bird Recording Co., offering a recording facility, with post production, sound design and mastering services. For more details follow this link
Along the way I've released a couple of albums, one of them championed by many, another mostly ignored. I'm making another one now.
